Whats your best folding fighter?

Ok I have several really good knives. An origional Emmerson CQC-7, Spyderco Delica Wave, CRKT Crawford/Kasper and even a Ken Onion/Steven Segal knife. So here is the problem. I want to buy another folder.

Requirements. Good blade, 3.25" - 4.5", good lock, easy opening.

This will be carried daily and used frequently.

Ok since your opinions mean something to me, let me know what you own that you think would fit the bill or even once you would like to own that you think would fit the bill.

One more thing....only one knife.

While you own better knives already, I have to vote for the CRKT M16-13. It's cheap, sturdy, good steel, and a workhorse. If something goes horribly wrong, buy a new one without crying about it. It's my EDC.

My EDC is actually usually my small Kershaw Scallion - plenty adequate overall and not too large. Prior to that I carried a Buck Mayo TNT but - very slow to open.

This benchmade would suit nicely as a fighter IMO - just that it is well up there in weight. But the opening is slick and it feels good in the hand. Grips are G-10 I believe.

I don't often carry it but like it a lot.

Oh I forgot to mention. This knife will also be used as a back up weapon. Should my firearm go down, the knife will take its place to do what has to be done.

Thanks for the knives mentioned. This will be hard but I have this nasty habit of collecting knives and the CQC-7 has been around the block for many a moon and is ready for retirement to the display case.

Pretty much assumed that Steve - and I'd love for you to try my Benchmade just for interest' sake. As said - bit heavy but - just feels so darned ''useful'' in the hand. And fast to deploy.

My best folder is a Combat Elite RRF. The ergonomics of this knife are incredible. It really fits the hand (well it's a Darrel Ralph design, which speaks for itself). This is the smallest knife that, to me, would feel secure enough in the hand for self-defense.

I should be receiving a Benchmade 420 Resistor in the mail Monday. The 420 is just huge in girth and extremely stout. However, it is NOT inconspicuous in a pocket. The picture does not do justice to the massive proportions of this knife.

Another knife which interests me but I do not yet own, is the Buck/Strider Tarani Police 882SBTG. With ATS-34 and G10 this knife goes for a little over $100 but you can get cheaper versions for around $50 (889 SBMF). The oddly shaped handle actually fits the hand quite well and the knife is quite beefy.

I like my Cold Steel Recon. I would like something with a spring assist but I couldnt carry it around here in PA. Otherwise I'd say my Kershaw Whirlwind.

If you are going to retire the CQC-7, why not replace it with another? It has obviously rendered good service. If it ain't boke, don't fix it.

If you are looking for something different, the Ernie's Commander model bears consideration.

I like the assisted opening feature that my Kershaw Blur has. It's fast and sharp.

However, the locking liner might not be your cup of tea. Hasn't failed on me, though.

Addendum to my previous post, while it's not exactly what I would call a "Fighting Knife" or "Combat Folder" the Cold Steel Ti-Lite is a good defensive knife which is designed with a tang on the balde used to catch on the pocket and cause the blade to open and lock on drawing without being spring assisted. That and it's a slick looker going back to the switch blade era.

Best- Emerson Commander w/wave opening. Heavy duty but a bit large for everyday carry.

Everyday carry-
right front pocket- Buck/Strider SBT. I own 3 different ones, one has serrations the other 2 not (easier to sharpen).
left front pocket- Kershaw Ken Onion Leek. Assisted opening feature very nice to have.
(both are one hand openers, so no matter which hand is busy I can use the other to retrieve a knife.)

My favorite by far is my SIG X-Blade...

Another vote for the Cold Steel Gunsite Tanto. Basically the Voyager Tanto with "gunsite" on it.

Awsome responses. Some I have thought of and some I had not even thought of. The reason for not getting another CQC-7 (at this time) is I have this aflection with collecting great knives. The CQC-7 has to many memories to try and replace it (kinda like marrying your wifes twin sister if she dies).

Have playes with the Cold Steel before and they are nice.

Now the Sig blade looks interesting. As I am issued a Sig for duty carry that might look nice in the collection once its served a while.

Chris that knife of urs just looks to pretty to get bloody. It is sweet but I'm afraid I'd think about messing it up. LOL.
