I can find a good flipper, I can find assisted opening, I can find under 3 oz, I can find under $80 street price, but I just can't find all three in anything but a Kershaw. Sorry, dude. I gave it a go for you, though.
LOL, I know tell me about it, I've been looking like crazy. I appreciate the help though.

Why does it have to be 3 ounces? I don't think having a 4.5 ounce knife versus 3 ounces knife is going to make a big difference.

It is really not that big of a difference, but I have a 4.2 oz blade right now, and would like something a little lighter. Just personal preference.

Try the Spyderco Line. I've run with the Endura, Delica, and Native models and they have all been great!

I just grabbed up a couple Tim Werners from BladeTech...so far so good....

I was going to advise the Delica/Endura line as well but they lack a flipper, assisted opening, and the Endura weights more than 3 oz. They are relatively cheap at around $50-60 online, have production drones at the same basic price point so any training you get with knives can also be directly ported to your EDC blade, and are absolutely top-notch knives to boot. Benchmade has a similar winning knife design in their full-size Griptilian series (which I actually prefer) with matching drones, but the street price is higher than with the Spyderco knives mentioned.

Spyderco has many that fall within your requirements. Highly recommended as I have many.

FYI...I surf their site http://www.spyderco.com/catalog/list.php?category=8 for what I want then go to amazon.com and order it. Amazon.com vendors seem to have the best prices I have found for Spyderco

This is the knife I carry daily and it works out very well for me...

Try a Kershaw CLASH.Not sure of the weight, msrp is $39.95 and Amazon was about $22.It is alot of bang for the buck.Made in China, but it IS a Kershaw so I don't think you can go wrong.Spyderco has several lower-priced models at "yourcornerstore.com".Good prices on all products and they are a good site to deal with.
