    My New Spyderco Delica 4

Here is my new Spiderco Delica 4 that my girlfriend got for me on Valentine's day :-) .

I plan on making this my everyday utility knife.

I am already very happy with this knife. It came very sharp right out of the box. I love the light weight and easy to carry size.

I have to admit that the positive review that Nutnfancy gave this knife, heavily affected my decision to get this knife.

    Grace & Peace,
    DFG

I carry one everyday. Great knife. The only difference is I bought the one with the Emerson Wave feature. It will snap open as I draw it from my pocket.

Oh wow, I've never heard of that feature. I'll have to look into that.

    Thanks for the info,

You can add a zip tie wave to your Delica for the same capability. Search youtube for "Delica zip tie mod". I also carry a Delica semi-daily. I also have an Endura (the larger sized version of the Delica) with the Emerson Wave, although I don't carry it very often.

Same! My Delica4 wave-opener, has been my trusty EDC weakside for many years! I love it and always recommend it.

I have the same exact knife. In fact, it rode with me today. When I'm more dressed up, the Delica gets the nod. When I'm in work cloths, the Endura ZDP gets the nod. My GF also has a pink version of the Delica, my best friend has one, and I bought my cousin an Endura. GREAT KNIVES! Congratulations on the gift, you will love this knife. Just a few pulls on a stone every couple of weeks and that thing will shave hair. PS, hang on to the girl!

It is very easy to grind the wave feature into these knives, I bought a delica wave and then ground my old endura the same way, will not carry a knife without it.

I carry a Delica 4 straight edge (withOUT Wave) in my pocket all the time - it's a wonderful knife - I am using it all the time for slicing open boxes and other non-defensive tasks. I did not know what the "Wave" feature was, so I just looked at the Spyderco web site, and thought I would post a pic here, so that others could see.

I must say - that "Wave" feature looks pretty dang dangerous to me, as it seems like it could cause the knife to snag firmly on your pocket on the way out, or you could easily cut yourself as the blade would be opening whilst you are withdrawing the knife from pocket. Does anyone else feel this way?

Congratulations! I regularly carried my Delica 4 Combination Edge in locations with 3" blade limits. Great knife - tough, light and easy to sharpen. The combination edge proved very versatile in handling a wide range of cutting tasks. I picked up a Bob Terzuola a while back and gave the Delica to my wife about a week ago for her EDC. She likes it a lot. Can't go wrong with a Delica.

    - There are dozens of videos on Youtube showing various ways to deploy the Wave safely.

    - I have an Emerson CQC-10 and Combat Karambit. I've only owned them for about a year, but I've never had any problems drawing the blade. I've never had the blade snag prematurely, but you do have to pull out the knife carefully if you don't want it to deploy. As for cutting yourself, your hand just needs to be kept out of the way of the blade. Even if you touch the blade, it should be the spine and not the blade edge.

Good knife and old plastic clipped Delica was my first pocket knife. You made a very practical choice for a carry knife.
