Companies like S&W, Winchester and maybe Remington to tend to license out their name for these products, and they tend to be cheap though there may always be an exception. I've not impressed with any Winchester tool or knife I've bought or received. I bought a S&W light like this for work a couple years back. It lasted 2 months and died.
I've been carrying a Coleman from Wally's for about $30 now for about 3 years. It's been a good one.
