Boston Wants To License The Sale of Knives.

    Action Alert

    September 6, 2011
Gun Owners' Action League - Northboro, MA.
Action Alert: Boston may License Knife Sales

On Thursday, September 8, 2011 the Public Safety Committee of the Boston City Council will be holding a hearing with the intention of licensing the sale of knives in the city of Boston. Below is the official purpose of the hearing:

That the appropriate committee of the Boston City Council hold a hearing to examine requiring the sale of knives to be licensed by the appropriate police agency that would monitor, regulate and license businesses selling knives. Representatives from the Boston Police Department, Inspectional Services Department, and other interested parties shall be invited to attend.

The meeting will be at City Hall, Ianella Chambers, 5th Floor on Thursday, September 8, 2011 at 10 am.

The following is a link to the councilor's webpages: Boston City Councillors | City of Boston

We urge GOAL members to contact the Boston City Council and express their opposition to this measure. Please keep in mind that this is how gun control got its start in the Commonwealth. Currently citizens need a license to possess pepper spray. In a year or so this measure could lead to licensing citizens to possess a basic pocket knife.

Sounds like they have some small thinkers on the city council in Boston.

What a pack of tards. Hopefully the residents have enough common sense to flush these mouth-breathers on the next round of elections.

Didn't you know people that commit the stabbings go out and buy a brand new knife first.

Greater Boston has a population of about 4.5 million people, each who own at least 1 knife already. And this proposed new law will prevent what?

was not there some sthing big happened in Boston that hundreds of years ago began a Revolutionary War?

    and it is so....strange that as things in Great Britain are getting worse each day as they pass similar restrictive laws on THINGS-- laws that do not work;
that Boston should now want to be more like Old England?

I guess the lawmakers in Boston do not have the capacity to learn. Have they not seen what has happened in the UK and Australia?

They'll have a little trouble if they want to register all those kitchen knives out there!

So glad to be in a gun friendly state!

Whats that? We have a BINGO!!! "rammerjammer" just summed it all up.
I'm not trying to sound like a smartaleck, but why would anyone live in such a restrictive state?
    Move, leave, run-away, QUICKLY!
If everyone with any common sense left the state, excuse me, commonwealth, they wouldn't have the tax base or the money to fund their stupid laws.
Whats next? Register ballbats and broken bottles, maybe putting serial numbers on bricks.

Ted Kennedy killed more people with his Oldsmobile, than I have killed with all my knives and guns put together, and yet they continued to re-elect him their Senator for another thirty years????????????????
