Gotta love the media spin: A 13" machete. Darn I'd be busted 10 times over. 13" is only 1" bigger than a ruler for cryin' out loud. That's not a machete!

Never Was & never will be an effective one anyway.

13" does not a machete make. Makes for better headlines if you stretch the truth.

But the truth should not be so streached out of shape as to be unrecognizable.

All the ones I've had and used have had 18" blades. I've heard of, but never seen 24" blades.

The moral of the story is don't stop to sharpen the thing by the White House fence....... Those folks seem a bit touchy about those things.

I would say that's pretty good advice.

To that, Saleh said, "What are you going to do -- shoot me?"

Ooo, now that's a pretty snazzy comeback. Next time a cop stops my car and asks me to step out of the vehicle, I'll be sure to try it out.

Policeman: Please step out of the car, Sir.

Guy: Oh yeah? What you gonna do if I don't? Shoot me?

Policeman: Yes, with extract of habanero or energized metal darts.

The Collins model 18 machete had a blad length from between 9 1/2 inches to 16 inches, most had length of about 10 inches. It was adopted by the Army Air Corps as a Survival Knife, later after the WW 2 is was called a V44. The actual V44 was a Case Machete wit rounded tip, used as a a Navy Pilot servival Knife.

I'm curious what law she broke. The blade wasn't concealed and she wasn't threatening anyone with it...

"...sharpening it on the edge of the sidewalk."

A very precise sidewalk, no doubt. I should try that.
