OC spray and Metal Detectors
As far as I know, there are no laws regarding the use of OC spray in GA. Today, I was at the Post Office and for the first time, actually noticed there were metal detectors when you walk in. I had seen them before, but never took any note of them.
Now, in GA, I can't CC to the Post Office, nor carry my utility knife, but nothing says anything about OC spray.
My question is, will the metal detector go off if I walk in there with a can of OC spray?
Also, how does it differentiate between keys, cell phones and then knives and guns? Is it just the amount of metal before it goes off?
I really don't want to test this.
Any help would be appreciated.
It's not polite to call people name's, you idiot!

Metal Detectors in the Post Office? Now they have gone to far. Don't you love the trust?

If it's like any of the USPOs near here, they aren't metal detectors. They are anti-theft detection devices to stop people from walking out with postage and shipping supplies without payment.

Yep, they also have the anti-theft detectors here in Arkansas too.
I know they work too. One time they forgot to scan the tag,,, I did pay for it, "Honest" and it went off. I looked at the lady and she just waved me on. LOL...

Just go to a "Mail, UPS and Fedex service shop." You can do almost anything you can in a normal post office. There are a lot of businesses that have a sub USPS mini store where you can carry to your harts delight. So my option is to avoid completely.

I walk in and out of USPOs here in MA that have those anti-theft detectors and most of the time I am carrying, plus have tons of metal (keys, knives, badges) in my pocket. Believe me, if it were a real metal detector they would be very busy checking people out . . . and I'd avoid the place like the plague.
Probably 10-15 years ago I went inside the USPO in PO Square, Boston only to find an x-ray machine, metal-detecting walkway and security . . . all before the USPO lobby. I was not carrying, but had loads of keys, knives, badges in pockets and wasn't about to hassle with all that just to mail a letter. I asked them for the nearest outside mailbox and headed out. This building also housed the US District Court on the upper floors at that time, so the idiots setup security just inside the doorway for anyone in the building!
