    Gerber 45803 Guardian Back Up

    Morning DC!

Thinking of getting one of these:

Gerber 45803 Guardian Back Up, Double Edge, Fine Edge Knife: Amazon.com: Home Improvement

Anyone have any experience with them? Plan on carrying it in my boot while on duty.

I have a Gerber Guardian that I bought in the mid 80's. Mine has a smooth handle and has a leather sheath with a large plastic clip. Mine has been through hell and has been sharpened many times. I've lost a 1/4" off the tip from abusing it. It's still in use.

Now I want to buy that new one, seems like a nice price.

Make sure that it's a legal carry in your state. The double edge would class it as a dagger. In my state it would be an illegal carry knife unless one edge was blunted to make it a single edged knife.

Does the OP reside in Alabama? If so I believe that you cannot carry that knife.
