As of today, this (Strider DB-L, which has a .25 stock) is my everyday carry which will often be complimented by a folder.

If youre looking for a beefy folder that wont break the budget:
Kershaw Junk Yard Dog (can find a blem for not too much money)
cold steel recon folder
cold steel voyager or ak47
Sog Pentagon
Benchmade Rift is also a pretty beefy knife
Zero Tolerance (made by kershaw) are all built like tanks but can be costly
