    Cold Steel Carbon V Trailmaster

Any thoughts on this knife? Saw one the other day and almost bought it.

I've heard they are temporarily out of production due to some sort of problem obtaining their steel and that earlier production runs were sold out, the knives were great, etc.

    Yes, or B.S.?

Talk to me out there, anyone with some first-hand experience.

Good steel, I have a Trailmaster made of Carbon V.
My only dislike of the knife is that I find the blade a little thick on the back and also the knife is heavier then it needs to be due to the thickness of the blade.

    Great knife..a bit pricey..

I'm getting interested in cold steel stuff again here lately. For some reason, Ive obtained two different CS X2 Voyager clip point folders, one serrated, one plain.

Back to the trailmaster..I know a couple of guys who use them as their main packing knife, and a few who actually use them for knife combatives classes.

I don't think you will ever be able to wear one out..so buy it and have fun.

Some day I'll break down and buy one.

What do you want to use it for? camping? dressing big game? survival? self defense?

Try to find a second. Nothing wrong with the knife, cosmetic blemish only, at half the price. The Becker BK9 is great too.
