    Zip tie pocket deploy mod!

Welp figured I'd post this incase it hasn't been posted on this forum before or for all the new people who have missed it and don't know about it! It's the zip tie mod! If you have a knife with a thumb whole opening like most of the spyderco blades then this mod is for you! All you do is take a zip tie and put it on like so..

Now when you pull your knife out of your pocket drag the zip tie on your pockets edge and your knife will fling open...this works every time! And is cheap and super easy to do!

Good information for people who haven't seen it before. I'm partial to the real Emerson Wave though.

I have real waved knifes from both Emerson and Spyderco, and I also have Spyderco's and two thumb-hole Griptilian's modded with the zip-tie. Dare I say, the zip-tie works just as good....... if not better. The zip certainly doesn't do much for aesthetics, but oh well.

My only issue with the Emerson wave is, the wave is a very small hook, and kind of sharp and will do seriously damage on pockets (not to mention they're super aggressive G-10 on their later knives). However, the wave (Emerson patented) on the Spyderco Endura is much bigger and doesn't damage pockets as much. The Zip-tie does very little damage.

I have 10-11 knives I carry daily. Only 3 of them are not either zip-tied or waved. They all consist of Spyderco's, Benchmade's, Emerson's and one lonely Zero Tolerance.

Never seen that method before but with having fine motor coordination problems in my right hand that may present a viable solution.

or just take a dremel and open up the hole. I did this on my (spyderco) Byrd Cara Cara before I got a Spyderco knife with the emerson feature
