    CRKT Otanashi noh Ken Review

    IMG_1420 copy.JPG

I posted a review of CRKT's new for 2013 Otanashi noh Ken folding knife. It is a very capable defensive folder by noted designer and martial arts instructor James Williams. At the 2013 SHOT Show, I was able to handle and photograph a prototype Otanashi. It is large, but slim. With a 4.6" tanto blade, it is quite impressive. That, and it conceals very will with a deep concealment clip.

Looks very sweet, thanks for posting. I am a fan of CRKT for their decent quality to price ratio, and have been carrying an M16-14T daily for more than 7 years. This knife, which appears to be similar in size, MAY be the replacement. Assuming I can ever bring myself to replace it, that is...

A man fires a rifle for many years, and he goes to war. And afterward he turns the rifle in at the armory, and he believes he's finished with the rifle. But no matter what else he might do with his hands - love a woman, build a house, change his son's diaper - his hands remember the rifle.

Thanks, guys. It is a very nice knife. I have a full sized Hissatsu but the OnK is better, in my opinion.

What, exactly, defines a "tanto" blade???

I guess I've always seen them with the angle near the end that sharply moves to the point...
