By the way, the openings in the handle are hex wrenches. I guess you can argue that it's a tool, if you are questioned.

I am familiar with that exact knife. Bench Mark Knives originally designed it and produced it --- and then GERBER bought Bench Mark and following that purchase the knife sported the GERBER name.
I am (not sure) but, I believe that the Bench Mark folks continued to make it...just with the (now) GERBER name.
It is no longer in production and has been out of production for quite some time though it was a quality knife with good steel and good hardness and temper.

Fine little vintage knife & still would be a good little Bug Out Bag survival knife.

Thanks for the info. I picked it up at a knife shop because I thought it looked neat at the time. Most people that I show it to have never seen one like it. Like you said, I think it makes a nice bug out knife. It will also slide easily down the inside of a boot...for what it's worth.

I think I remember seeing one like that about the same time I bought my Gerber belt knife. Took that little knife with me to survival school back about 1980. Great knife and it saw more use than any other knife in our element. Still have it to.
