The design was used in WWI and was called a trench knife. Not legal where I live.

    Just an example

From everything I have been able to research that would be illegal in FL.

I call it a trench knife and I have no ideal if it is legal in Florida

The problem with the trench knife is deployment in the middle of a fight.

I'd call it useless for CCW.

Trench knife...... Used during WWI for CQB fighting...its uses are pretty obvious lol. They were very devastating both as an edged weapon and as a bludgeon device. It was capable of delivering a staggering hammer blow due to the metal Butt, a cruching punch due to the metal knuckles, or a deadly thrust or slash with its blade. Pretty much the perfect defensiv eknife IMO lol.

Spot on as always in your reply....in Tennessee we call these a "Class A Misdeamnor" for going armed if you get caught, with about 1 year of adult "Time Out" possible!

yeah.... as cool as they are, not worth the risk. I want to say some states actually outlaw this type of knife specifically simply because it is so dangerous, but dont quote me on that. Ill just stick to my folders and be happy.... besides , I carry a gun so I dont have to get within knife range :)

I'm with you...found out the hard way I am allergic to steel and lead. In Tennessee the maximum legal blade length is 4" and "brass knuckles" are illegal in any form. So knives like this are a no-go from the laws stand point on both fronts.

The blade folds into the handle. Knife or metal knuckles?

Cheap flea market junk more than likely. There are well made fixed blade examples out there, but I don't know of any folders except the $20 junk/knock off brand and on those if the blade is closed the knuckles are blocked from use anyway, purely show toys.

Where I come from we called this a letter opener. :)
The worst thing about growing old is that other men no longer see you as dangerous.
