    THIN knife for carry?

I have a Leatherman of some type (not the full size, but the one just beneath) and its great, but due to its size, it mainly stays in the center console of my truck.

Im looking for a folding knife that will fit/clip in my pocket, and be thin enough to actually carry in my pocket. Maybe something around a 3-4" blade (or whatever is legal in Florida) that is thin and light. I saw a video of an Al Mar knife (thats the name IIRC), but its like $250. Im lookin for a daily workhorse that I wouldnt be afraid to actually use. Maybe something in the $30-40 range?

    So basically the requirements:
    ~4" blade
    Folder
    Lightweight
    Very thin
    Pocket clip

    What would you suggest?

I like the following option, over a folding knife:. Its meant to be worn INSIDE the belt area. Ie between pants & belt, not outside the belt.

    KABAR TDI

The thinnest I found (in an assisted opener) is a Ken Onion Leek by Kershaw (model 1600ST). Nearly 3" blade, smooth action, thin, they'll sharpen it for you forever... It works and I like it.. I wouldn't be afraid to use it for every day... but I carry two other blades for work so this one is carried for one reason. When I run out of bullets, or can't carry a gun. So I ALWAYS carry it.

    It could be worse!

Try CRKT knives, they have a bunch of good, thin knives, and they are in the $40 rang if you order from Amazon.

I favor the KABAR line as well. If you have trouble locating one that suits you, you can also try a Camillus Cuda or a Buck Omni Hunter (shown below). Both are within the price range you quoted and are at the 4" blade length. I have both and carry them daily.

For utility its hard to beat a Buck. They are solid built, have good steel, and hold an edge as well as any knife I own. They are also great if you might have to venture off the beaten path.

I second CRKT. I received one as a gift a little over a year ago. I love this thing! It immediately replaced my other daily carry knife. It's feather light, thin, and razor sharp! I think it's this one: http://www.crkt.com/M1603Z

Spyderco Endura and Benchmade Griptilian are my choice. I like knives with a hole in the blade for opening much better than a stud. Both of the knives I mentioned are around $80.

What about something like this? Seem like decent budget options. Ive never had an "out the front" knife before. The Boker looks nice as well.

Boker Magnum Automatic Knife Tanto (3.25" Black Serr) 01BO018 - Blade HQ

Lightning D/A OTF Black Automatic Knife (3.5" Satin Serr) - Blade HQ

I have enjoyed this one based on a fellow DC member's, BR101, review and recommendation: Amazon.com: Kershaw 1555TIX Cryo Hinderer: Sports & Outdoors. There a ton of good EDC knives that are primarily utilitarian but that can also pinch hit for some self-defense. Good luck!

My current EDC is a Benchmade 530 Pardue. This thing is pretty dang thin.

I normally EDC a Griptilian, but this thing is half as thick, at .37". It's also super light, at under 2oz.

Blade is 3.25", spear-point design but only sharpened on one side, so no issue with "dagger" laws.

It also has Benchmade's AXIS lock, which is by far my favorite folder locking mechanism.
