Do you like your BM Skirmish?

    Hi Guys,

I have seen a skirmish first hand, but it was only briefly and I didn't really study it all that much. Now, I'm considering picking one up (online) as for a Christmas present for my Father.

He has a spyderco delica and is looking for somthing a little bigger. I carry an spyderco endura and would like to buy him something different. I've always liked Benchmade knives and at a glance, I really liked the Skirmish. I've read some threads on here that all seemed pretty postive, I was just looking for a little more feedback. For example, has anyone found the skirmish to be too big/heavy for everyday carry?

    Thanks!

Mass, I keep looking at the Skirmish, I just keep finding other things eating my wallet! Seriously, it has good reviews everywhere I've seen, and it feels great. Subjectively, weight is abouth the same as Kershaw's Boa, which I carried a long time, and length is the same as (maybe a tad shorter than) the AFCK, so.......

If he doesn't like it, you can send it to me!

are you talking about the "mini" or the full-sized version? the full-sized one is HUGE

If you carry in Condition 3, you have two empty chambers. One in the weapon...the other between your ears.

The skirmish [ full size ] is a hell of a folder. I've played with one for some time, light in the pocket, easy to manpulate, but the size isn't for everyone and may be illegal in a lot of the states statutes due to blade length.

I ordered one for my Dad yesterday (full size, not the mini). No blade length restrictions here in MA, with the exception of Boston itself which banned knives longer than 2" in response to 9/11.

It's a great folder if its legal for you to carry it, and your back holds out.

I especially like the large holes in the blade..makes it faster to pop open...and its a tough folder.

    Wow

What nice knife, great feel to it. My dad loves it. I think I may need to pick one up. Here's a shot it with some of my folders (and a watch for scale)>
