    Pepper spray

What sort of pepper spray do you all carry? I got a spitfire last night at the lgs. I'm not crazy about the trigger on it, afraid it might go off in my pocket. What kind and how do you carry.

Fox labs 2oz can which is not EDC due to size. I EDC the ASP street defender, fits in the pocket nicely. I mistakenly discharged it in my house once and I KNOW this stuff WORKS.

I carry sabe red. I use that and Fox labs. Both are used by many police depts. Yes it works, sounds like you found out the hard way. The main thing I noticed when sprayed, was almost,at the same time I was hit my eyes snapped shut and were hard to open. They burned bodily (Face and upper torso) as well . I could have still grappled ( and did) with someone. It was not easy with snot, burning eyes ,and mouth.

As a citizen now , I don't have to grapple with people , put cuffs on them etc. if my goal Was to run away there is no way I could have caught you unless you had some sort of medical infirmity. It is too hard too see for long and hard to breathe much less run fast.

    Good stuff

ASP Street Defender. Spring the extra bucks to get the quick-release fastener. It will be handy when you're headed to the airport.

It's a useful self-defense weapon in and of itself - it's a kubota and can be used as a striking or jabbing tool. Yes, you can CS spray with it, but it's also ready to deploy just as it is. Any good self-defense tool should have this kind of functionality.

I would recommend you stick with a stream spray canister. Foams and Gels have a couple of disadvantages. The active ingredient is suspended in the gel, thus it's not quite as effective as the liquid stream, and more importantly, the gels and foams allow the target to wipe the stuff onto his hands, and then if he grabs you or swings and connects with you, you just got peppered with your own gel or foam.

Don't carry any today....but when I was a street cop we were issued Aerko's "Freeze +P". It's a mix of military grade CS and OC.....nasty stuff. Spray around 40 people with it, and it worked on all but (2), who were too drunk/drugged up to care, or mentally GONE.

Yep I always carry three kind sprey ( oc,cs or cn and UV dye) some people are not effect by OC sprey or have been spray so much it does not bother them .Now CN is nasty stuff as the other guy stated caused massive mucous build up Phenacyl chloride - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia from wikipidea on CN "Like CS gas, this compound irritates the mucous membranes (oral, nasal, conjunctival and tracheobronchial). Sometimes it can give rise to more generalized reactions such as syncope, temporary loss of balance and orientation" .

So that is great cause a person could still fight though closed eyes and get you but if he is bent over hacking up his lungs from CN well he wont be doing much now will he ..

I prefer steam as you can not have it thrown back at you with this as the other poster listed for foam

However this for the money are two best spreys IMOP

Amazon.com: Kimber Pepperblaster 2 Red, One Size Red: Sports & Outdoors this has little blow back and will go though mask

But this sucker fires by gunpower as clost to 400 mph if this hits
