    Alternative to Zero Tolerance

    Good Afternoon,

I am seeking an EDC alternative to the Zero Tolerance with speed safe, I believe the model is 0350 with a stone washed blade. I am seeking a knife with a thick/strong blade, less than 3.5 inches in length, stone wash blade, speed assist, non tanto blade, and under $120. I would really go for a emerson but I can't find a blade that I like. For general EDC, a tanto blade does not work for me. I work in a retail environment and like the drop point or similar blade configurations. Does anyone have any other suggestions?

    Thanks for your assistance.

Benchmade Volli AXIS-Assisted Satin Plain Blade, Black G-10 Handles ? Wesson Ace Hardware

Not quite as beefy as the 0350 but a very sturdy knife none the less. Just slightly more than $120.00.

Why not ZT? Just the price? Keep your eyes on the EE and sell/trade pages of the forums. I have picked up several ZT blades for well under MSRP in "Like New" condition.

I'd also recommend taking a look at the Para Military 2 from Spyderco. It's not nearly as hefty a blade as the ZTs but it is built like a tank and sharp as a straight razor OTB.

If the price is a concern, the ZT0350 can be had on Amazon for less than $120.

I've been using a Gerber F.A.S.T. folder. Works for me and holds a good edge. Available in several blade configurations.

That 0350 for $95 is a great deal. Most times I've seen the "blem" knives, I couldn't find the issue. If they weren't marked as blems you'd never know.

I'd go a Spyderco PM2 if you can find one. I can open that with a middle finger flip faster than any speed safe I've had. I've also been less than impressed with ZT edges out of the box.

and if you want something REALLY beefy and solid/thick blade look for a OLDER Gerber Parabellum....its a bit bigger than you stated for a folder but its when Gerber was still made in the USA and its a big beefy knife came hair shaving sharp out of the box..they run around $100-120..they are circa mid-late 1980's.
