    Rehabing a knife.

I was rooting around my moms house this weekend and found a 5" Buck knife that had been my brothers when we were kids in the 70's. Being kids, we didn't take very good care of it and the blade is kind of scratched up like I tried to sharpen it with a rock from the creek. Nothing major but could use a little help. What is the best way to take out the minor scratches and scrapes that have been inflicted upon this beautiful knife? I was thinking some fine steel wool but wanted to see what a more knowledgeable person might suggest.

Scotch Brite pad is an option as well.
Maybe a lil bit of Flitz or the like also.

    Good luck with it.

A hard buffer wheel with polishing compound. It will return a mirror finish to it.

Oh, and get the hard, stitched wheel not the loose cotton wheel.
