How many carry a knife as back up to your pistol

I carry a older Cold Steel X2 Voyager (that a 6" blade folder) on weak side. Can be open in a blink of eye . I tried the new Voyager. Didn't like the new grip and the clip is I think wrong location Knife sets to low in pocket for my taste .

A knife up close is nasty weapon. If grab from behind in bear hug I can still draw and cut you. You will release me . Hard to draw a pistol from pocket or IWB and shoot

I carry the old Vaquero Grande. It's the same but a little lighter and has a regular lock back.

I carry a pistol as a backup for my pistol with spare reloads for both. I have carried a Spyderco Police folder as a tool for over twenty-five years.

Yep, my backup to my pistol is another pistol and sometimes back those up with a derringer in the front pocket. I do carry a leatherman tool though. It has a "knife", but I use the pliers more often than anything.

Yea If BG gets you in a Bear hug Whip out the pliers grab a finger and squeeze. Instant control

I carry a knife all the time, but more as a tool then a back up weapon. One of my favorite knives is a Ka-Bar neck knife that I carry sometimes. One of the best neck knives I've found.KA1117a.jpg
it's model # KA1117. Not a bad knife to have handy in a pinch.

I EDC my knife, gun, flashlight, and my hands, none are necessarily a backup, I use each tool as it's needed for the given situation.

If you haven't checked out benchmades push dagger you should, although I wouldn't carry a neck knife, I would clip it inside my belt.

I carry this bowie, a BUG to the gun, and another SAK hiker for chores. The bowie might be a 3rd BU or a 2nd, or a primary. Like wasp, each will have it's place depending on circumstances
