    My new hobby

I decided it would be fun to Make some knives. I did some research, built a small forge, picked up some coal and got to work.

    Here is my forge.

Here is my first attempt at a knife both are crappy phone pic's, the blade is actually longer than the handle it just does not look like it.

Nice job, never seen a lawnmower used for a forge but it looks it works. One suggestion, if you can find coke instead of coal it will make a much hotter fire and last longer.

Bad Bob, I don't expect you to go over everything but since I'm not a maker myself, how do you know you got the heat treat right? I know some people send them off.

Also, are you planning on scales or just continue cord wrapping them?

Dang Bob! Got a little free time on your hands?
Looks great. The machining looks especially impressive.

Tell us you didn't toss a grate on top of those coals and BBQ some supper while it was still hot.

Yea, I'll take one... Hope you don't mind if I tell everyone I made it. Very cool though. That'll work.
