    I received my SubcomF straight from Chad. It was one of the original ones. Honestly, I was pretty amazed how well the edge held up with the original steel. I think it was 420J2. That said, I would like one of the newer AUS 8 models!

    I'm battling to get a fixed blade cheap on eBay currently, I might fold and just 'Buy it Now' though... they are very popular there presently and aren't selling much below regular price.

    Yeah, the fixed blade & the wharcom's are popular & not selling for cheap. The regular subcom's are dropping in price, though. I bought a combo blade in desert for $21.50. I recently paid $27 for the wharcom.
