I have been a knife guy for a long time now. I have even dabbled in making knives when I have time. If you are looking for a solid everyday carry knife you can't go wrong with the Benchmade Griptilian. I have many Spydercos that I love, but they are all lockbacks. The Benchmade locking system is second to none and I think the Griptilian is the least expensive Benchmade with the axis lock.

They have your old knife for $129, if you are looking to get the same replacement.

Replacing your Benchmade might be a way to go, but if you're apt to losing it, that Kershaw Blur is very good especially for the price.

Personally, I like my Emerson CQC7B, but then I paid $85 for it, not the $160 or so it's going for.

I'll second the Blur...I've had it for a while now...Makes for a good assisted opener especially with the inlaid grip/traction stuff.

I really am torn about this whole knife thing, maybe I am putting to much effort into it.
Part of me want to just buy a exact replacement, and the other part of me wants to buy a cheap knife to "punish" me for losing it in the first place.
No, I'm not prone to losing my knives I've had this one for at least 7 years and carried it 24/7. I have had others much longer.
Oh well, keep the suggestions coming. BTW, I just found out that I can buy knives at cost too. Thats 30-60% of retail. :)

Yep, it's the S30V steel, not same as the standard Kershaw Blur.

Gotta brag a bit--my wife knew I wanted it, so got it for me on our wedding anniversary/Valentine's Day...what a wonderful woman....

...yet another benefit you get with the Spyderco models.

if you haven't seen it, here's a vid. I shot about a year ago showing the wave opening to various grips, you can also see the one-handed closing. (note: the first opening was done with the thumb-hole to show the difference in speed between that and the wave).

Thanks for posting that, I was figuring the spyderco would be tough to do one handed. I guess I'll need some practice and a box of band aids.
