just got this in the mail today...it's a "Van De Camp" flat-sap made by Todd Foster. It's 8" long and weighs in at around 10oz. The non-conventional shape is meant to allow you to strike with the edge rather than just slapping with the flat part of the sap.
here's a pic with an Endura for size comparison and a couple to show it in the hand.

Folks should check their respective sate prohibited and offensive items list before buying one.
That would be an illegal for civilian carry item in Pennsylvania since it would be considered a prohibited offensive weapon. - Boo hoo I love Flat Saps - illegal "bludgeoning device" in PA. though.

In MO, a CCW allows you to carry any impact weapon, and any knife except for an auto or a balisong.

I will just rehash this. A sap by any other name is still a sap and if you use it agaisnt someone you will find yourself in deep deep legal waters. I do not know of a law enforcement agency that allows for the carry of them anymore and using one against anyone is considered lethal force. In other words, you smack someone on the head with that you might as well have shot them in the head. There is a reason they were pulled from law enforcement. Carry if if you like, but if you ever use it do not be suprised if you end up in bracelets and standing infront of an elevated person in black.
