    Gerber knife appraisal.

I have a Gerber Mark 1 and BMF survival I would like to sell and would like an estimate of what I could ask for. The mark 1 has had its tip broke and resharpened. minor scuffs on the blade and handle.

Welllll...... given the condition of the MkI, and having owned one- I wouldn't pay more than $25-30.

The BMF, if I were selling, I would probably start at $90-100, depending on how fast I needed to move it.

    Good luck!

Ya if the Mk 1 was an older leather sheath version, and the tip/blade in good shape they go for between $75 and $250. Their rare and getting harder to come by. Their tips were kinda delicate but I'd be suprised if you get more than $50 for it. I cherish mine and wont part with it.

Don't know much about the BMF other than what that nick name stood for in the military, which makes me think thats why Gerber called it that.

    Good luck.

The Gerber BMFs that I've seen for sale go for $240 or more, but that's with the saw teeth on the top side of the blade.

I haven't seen the plain blade for sale lately. What kind of shape is it in?

I agree with the others on the MKI, with the broken tip, value's way down.

I carried a BMF as a Scout Platoon Sgt in the 80's. But mine had a full tang, was this milled off on yours?

This BMF model was special and is why I got it over the full tang sawtooth one. These are much rarer I guess. You can use your thumb for downward pressure on the spine. It spent its time in the gun cabinet because it was to big for CC. No rust or scratches. Recently I saw some copies at smoky mountain knife works might be Chinese.
