"what a lucky guy, I hear he got the last one in stock.."

So I've been looking for a good, reliable folding knife for a while, on and off. Haven't really had the motivation to go ahead and order one, but while perusing the web looking for the knife I always figured I'd actually buy for the purpose (Kabar Dozier Thorn tactical folder), I discovered that they're out of production and out of stock in most shops. After searching google for awhile, I finally found a shop that had one left in stock, and at a very good price to boot. So I called em up, made sure they still had it, and ordered that puppy. Here's a picture for those who haven't seen one before.

Designed by Bob Dozier, manufactured in Japan, blade is made of D2 steel and double-sided, handle is aluminum. I've heard nothing but good things about this knife for years, and think it's one of the most elegant-looking folding knives available (or soon to be unavailable!). I'll let you all know how it feels and handles once I get it (probably by the end of the week).

    Nice knife...

Great looking knife. What does a knife like that go for. I could never understand when they have a good design on a knife, why would they take it out of production?

The knife had an MSRP of ~$100. I got mine for $56.

Ebay...it's not supposed to happen until sometime mid August.
At this point in time it still might not happen.

It's alright. If they decide to rescind their decision, then I'll open up a new account or re-open my old one if they allow me. I was very explicit in my reasoning when I closed it.
