Other Weapon = Anything
Ok, just read a few threads about blades being banned etc. Who the heck comes up with this crap? If I learned one thing in my years of training anything is a weapon. A weapon to me is anything it's just an extension of your body. Ever wonder what happens if you stab someone in the eye with a straw? lol. Seriously now, Pens, Pencils, a somewhat emptied bottle of water can all inflict serious injury or death. Books bot hard cover or paper back.
Thats just some stuff I'm looking at here in my office. so...
What do you have laying around in immediate view you could classify as a weapon?

You are born with weapons! Those hands you are typing with, those feet that carry your body around. Everybody also daily carrys weapons... That belt that holds your pants up. Those keys that let you into your vehicle and domicile. Flashlight, pens, wrenchs, hammers, broom sticks, mop handles/sticks. Lampsticks, soap(biological), OTC medicine, prescription medicine, socks(strangle? gag?put heavy item in?) . Even MOTHERNATURE supplies us with weapons...Sticks,rocks, etc
I have a catch line that I used once with a christian gun-grabber that left them thinking....
ME:So being chrisitian, you believe that Cain and Abel exsisted?
Christian: Of course...
ME: So then, you also believe that Cain killed Abel with an assult rifle...or maybe a handgun?
Christian: No! It was a rock...
ME:So you believe rocks can kill people? Yet you dont want to ban rocks, too?

I always thought my CB antenna would make a great weapon if I had to use it.

I once killed three armed men with a plastic soda straw and a nearly empty salt shaker.

We all know McGyver can turn 3 paper clips, a sock, a bottle of soda, and some altoids into a bunker-buster bomb, so I suppose those should all be "weapons" as well.
It really is kind of silly, though, what gets classified as a dangerous weapon and what does not. The rule of thumb seems to be "if it looks remotely like anything that was intended as a weapon, it must be one too". No worse logic than any of the rest of the anti crowd's.

A tightly rolled newspaper works **wonders** at slowing down a BG. Use it as a bat, a poky thingie, a garrotte....a wack in the eye will slow anyone down and give you time to assess the situation, and if you want to do major damage, a lunge/thrust in the throat will put him down for a long time and keep you more than arms length away.

The hypocrisy people show is absolutely AMAZING when someone actually challenges their believes instead of "thats cool."

To quote Mr. Musketeer's rule #1.

I did actually once use a Sunday newspaper, fresh out of the vending machine, to swat a BG in the face, knocking him to the ground as he rode up on a bicycle. He was trying the snatch the gold chain from my neck. The hard smack in the face and resultant crash dissuaded him from trying anything more. Maybe we should all start carrying a concealed newspaper !

Not sure which of his books that's in but I'm pretty sure it is one of the Hammer's Slammer's ones.

For those of us who train in Muay Thai we carry 8 weapons that are apart of our body. Hands, Elbows, Knees, Feet then you add in whats attached to your belt and have roughly around 10 or more.
I like the above quote though.
