    HA HA HA... My Boss

So, I work for a company that has a no firearms policy (Not a mandated pistol free) and is filled with workers that shouldn't EVER have a ccw. Only one person knows I have my permit and I've known them since I was 7.

Having your ccw permit in my state also allows you to carry larger knives. Well, the other day my boss needed to cut something small and asked if I had a pocket knife. I hesitated for a minute...

Then said yeah... handed him my new Cold Steel Recon 1 knife...lol...
He was like.."what are you doing carryin around a weapon... this is illegal to have" I was LAUGHING so hard inside. I played it off like I had no clue... "oh, really? huh... that's not good.. I don't want to get in trouble for something stupid like that..." "I'll get a new knife" LOL

Anyone else have a similar situation?

I would have politely suggested for the boss to use his teeth. LOL

I have a similar job where they have a no firearms rules, which then most employees translate to no weapons, so when someone needs something cut I let them know I don't have my scissors on me, even though I carry my SOG trident at all times. I've had a couple of coworkers freak out about it when they noticed it clipped in my jeans pocket they ask if I have a weapon or knife and I respond that its just a specialized tool. Normally they leave me alone after that.

Well this isn't knife related but....

Right after relocating to VA, I was updating the insurance policy on our guns, and the insurance company wanted an itemized list with makes, models, s/n info, cost to replace etc. etc.

It was just after 5pm (quitting time) and I was still on the phone with the company, and my boss wanted to know why I was still on the phone, I was on hold (go figure) and told him what I was doing, the expreession on his face changed a little, I guess not to many of my co-workers need a seperate policy for firearms and he asked "Well, how many do you have?" I picked up my 2 page spread sheet and his reply can not be repeted as it contained some profanity. I asked him to explain his reaction and his reply was along the lines of "It's just good to finally get someone in this office that has a bunch of guns!"

I thought that was pretty cool.

My work made me remove a Leatherman from my belt.

    It was a "weapon"

One of the reasons I love my job. No no weapons policy. So long as I don't come in with a shotgun strapped to my back no one will care.

Nothing better then my cold steel recon, I have used it in carpeting jobs on three different houses. It is the best knife I have ever owned.
