where are you shopping? you can find Griptilians online all day long for around $80

Lowes sells a good Gerber folding knife for $20. You can't use it to pry bricks out of walls, but it is very sturdy and will nearly ruin a BG's day when drawn across his carotid artery or thrust into his solar plexus.

Surely you don't need to carry that SS card with you, do you?

i have a question about this as my friend and I are were talking about what we should carry everyday in order to be prepared for just about anything. We disagreed on one thing... he says one should carry as much ammo as physically possible on their person. He carrys FIVE extra hi cap mags for his g19. What do ya'll think about this?

A note.. not many of you are carrying lighters, i think its a simple addition that should be added to every persons EDC.

Quite a bit of discussion on this topic took place here.

One relevant fact, I think, is that we limit our preparedness as we balance it with other preferences. For instance, wouldn't we be safer if we wore crash helmets when we drive? Yes! Then why don't we?

The likelihood of crashing our car is much greater than the likelihood of needing eighty rounds of ammo, isn't it?

In truth, a lot of what we do along the lines of personal defense has to do with taste and enjoyment rather than with cold rational analysis. In other words, "I do it because it makes me feel good." And that's okay.

I suppose if he is happy, i should be too. We are great friends now, but i'll bet if we ever get into troulbe and he has to use all 80 extra rounds, we will be much closer friends.
