Your permit is treated the same as that of the state you are in (if it is accepted). You are subject to all laws and rules that apply in the state you are in as well as in your home state in some situations.

    Florida's CCW website notes that:

    (1) While Florida's law allows licensees to carry stun guns, knives, and billy clubs in a concealed fashion, the laws in these states allow for concealed carry of handguns or pistols ONLY, NOT WEAPONS IN GENERAL. Florida license holders are prohibited from carrying other types of weapons while in these states.

A man MUST know his limitations...when traveling state to state...
    READ INDIVIDUAL STATE LAWS...

Another good reason is Magazine restrictions.

You can carry an "ordinary pocket knife" in FL without permit. The statute doesn't define "ordinary pocket knife", but most would agree that an auto isn't ordinary. I wouldn't carry an auto without permit in FL.....

Concealed Carry Reciprocity - Division of Licensing, DOACS

    Good question:

The above link will take you to State of Florida web page that lists what state accepts our CCL... Those states with a (1) one next to it does NOT allow auto knifes.

I don't know but I've asked several LEOs and they have all told me that Autos (switchblades) are illegal to carry in fl. period.

A good rule of thumb is to NEVER carry on your person an auto knife while traveling between states. You are asking for trouble!

No, that is not an auto blade. What we are talking about are knives that have "automatic" openers that usually contain a spring.

The only way you can lawfully carry an auto in public in Florida is with a valid CWFL.

An auto is not a "common pocket knife" under Florida law, and carrying one concealed without a CWFL is a criminal offense.

Also be aware that carrying one onto Indian lands is a federal felony, even if you have a CWFL.

Above info from Florida Firearms, p. 101-109.
