I got such good service from them, I had to report on it. I received a Bogusweski (?!) Spike in bad shape from a retiring LEO and Paramedic. For those not familiar, the Spike is a discontinued design with a sharply pointed blade, almost triangular, with a thin and sharp tip. The blade was oversharpened, the fine tip was broken and the serrated part was worn down from incorrect sharpening. Also, the spring (it's an auto) was broken and he had opened the knife and taken it out. That alone should have voided the warranty. This thing had seen years of use and abuse on the street. As Benchmade requires LEO ID for autos, I had an LEO friend return it with a note requesting them to do what they could. They require a $5 fee for all work so a money order was sent with contact info to bill me for the rest of the work.
Ten days later, it's back. Brand new(!) blade, new springs, new screws, the only thing original is the handles and they're cleaned up. Works like a brand new knife. Total charge, the original $5. No additional fee to get a discontinued knife back in 99% shape! Invoice says the spring was a manufacturer's defect and under warranty. NO charge for anything else!
