    Slippery knife.

I have a CRKT M16-14 SFA and the handle is slick which makes it easy for it to slide right out of my hand when I open it. Any suggestions on how to remedy this?

What kind of sides does this model have? Smooth metal ones?

EDIT: Try some sort of abrasive surface or something, if it is just smooth sides that could be your problem. I know of people that have added skateboard tape to firearms before to increase grip, although something like that could wreak havoc on your draw and pockets. Other than soemthing liek that I'm really not sure, someone else probably has a better suggestion.

I would use sand mixed in with some high durability paint to make some grip.

you might try sanding it a little with some coarse-grit sandpaper to roughen it up a little. (obviously, this will screw up the finish if you care about that kind of thing...)

The skateboard tape works well but may wear out your pockets quicker. That said, you can apply some and then scrape it a little with the back of a knife blade so that it's not quite as aggressive. I've done this with one of my metal-handled knives (Delica w/stainless handle) and it has worked very well.

    Do something about it.
Fix the problem or get a new knife because should you ever need to actually use it - blood is very slippery and your hand is going to end up "riding the blade" and you're going to open up a gash in your own hand.
That could possibly mix fresh AIDS infected blood of a BG with your own.
If that happens - you'll win the battle but, you'll ultimately lose the war.

220, followed with a light brush-off with steel wool or a 3M pad changes texture nicely. Or, you can buy a Dremel burr bit, and make your own inlet patterns.

Buy a can of spray on bedliner, take the panals of an spray them. If it doesn't turn out good, solvent will take it off.

Grip tape applied to the top of the board to keep your footing. I bought some precut sections for my G27 grips. Works very nice for grip but would tear up your pockets.

    Grip

How about stippling the grips with a punch or Dremel? Will look better than skate tape.

How about wrapping it with paracord. You can get it in all different colors now days. And it's not as abrasive as skateboard tape would be.

oooohhh, I just reread it. It's a folder. Wouldn't work. my bad. LOL!!!!!

Thanks. It was a suggestion for the OP, not a question for me. A bunch of guys at my IDPA club use it on their guns...

All of my CRKT M-16 knives were purchased with Zytel handles, which have a textured surface. With the aluminum grips, skateboard tape would be the inexpensive fix, but you might look into checkering/refinishing them.
