    I try to stay away from the medium grade stainless steels if possible.

    I much rather prefer VG10; 154cm or ats34 in stainless, but then you don't get a lot of choice in the matter if you want a certain blade style.

    I agree, in fact I just sold a Companion. But for the money, those 2 aren't bad.

    My knife by my bed has S30V & the one in the car has Sanvick (I think I spelled that right, it's a Swedish steel & surprisingly good).

    I also have a Seal 2000, but will probably sell or trade that knife, although it's nice for a 7" blade knife.

    I agree, the return on investment is high with this knife. It's a straight, so it wasn't broke when he bought it, a plus in itself
