KA-BAR Knives: KABAR TDI Law Enforcement Knife

I have already heard that you're not supposed to bring a knife to a gunfight...,

But there are some people out there with some pretty strong opinions. I'd like to hear them and any experiences as well.

I'm close enough to TDI that I've seriously considered taking their Defensive Knife class.

It stands to reason if drawing a pistol takes about the same amount of time a determined attacker can cover 21 feet, I need additional tools in the arsenal. The KA-BAR TDI knife sure looks like an effective tool.

They are very good knives and carried by more than a few on this forum. Try doing a search on here and you will see what I am talking about. Good luck!

got mine.. I carry my main gun in addition to a TDI on my weak side and a S&W 642 in an ankle rig. The TDI is used for weapon retention rather than a main weapon, at least for me. As I say .. my gun keeps me and mine safe, the knife keeps my gun safe. But I am a whack job as I also have been known to say, My pistol helps me get to my shotgun, my shotgun helps me get to my rifle. Once I got my rifle you got 400 yards before I load it up. I want you to die tired and feeling helpless.

At just about $30 shipped, you can't go wrong. I have two, both purchased from bladematrix.tv. Good weapon retention knife. Speedy shipping from bladematrix

I just bought the tan one...it has a belt clip...I've had it for a week now...even my wife thinks it's great...(that was hard to believe)...seems like a great weak-side weapon...
Now my weak side holds my KA BAR and my extra mag.

    It was a great purchase...

    Stay armed...add a KA BAR TDI...stay safe!

I just picked up a Large TDI last weekend and really really like the knife. Beefy blade thickness, razor sharp, and overall quite a nasty tactical knife. I carry mine strongside, reverse handle.

How do you like that LDK? It's similar to the FS HAK. I really like the HAK but don't know about plunking down all those beans on a toy I can't finger.

How did you rig that? That sounds like a great idea.

I just ordered a TDI. I'm hoping I won't get harassed if someone sees me carrying it.

I have a HAK and love it. I tried the TDI but it was a little bulky for what I wanted. The handle was too thick for me, I wanted blade width and nothing else. I carry the HAK on the neck chain everywhere. It takes some practice to draw it quickly, but I carry it even when I can't carry my folder or gun.
