    KA-BAR TDI belt clip

Anyone use the KA-1480CLIP? If so how does it work? Does it fit over your belt or pants? And does it fit over a thick gun belt like the beltman? I just got my TDI and the holster it comes with is cheap. And most of all it is a real pain to thread it through my beltman belt. Thanks

Does your holster have slits cut into it, or the MOLLE straps? That clip looks like you need one of the holsters with the MOLLE set up.

I just got mine yesterday from EBAY with the extra clip included, basically just take out four screws from the belt loop, and put the clip in place with the four screws.

No trouble at all over my 1.5" Beltman Belt and 1.5" Wilderness Instructors belt.

Still uses the same plastic sheath though

I am wearing one right now.

I like it much better than the stock kydex attached. You just unscrew the stock belt attachment and reattach the clip one. Takes a whole 2 minutes. I am wearing a 5.11 tac belt w/ internal stiffener right now and it still has room to open. I do not own a Beltman belt...yet, so I can not offer help with that.

Well, seems like those two got it, maybe it does work with the sheaths with belt slots.

Anyways, the holster it comes with is actually pretty sturdy, never had a problem with losing my knife while running ranges or all sorts of other crazy things I've had to do in my flak vest.

Can you place the clip or belt loops on either side of the kydex sheath making it ambidextrous?

Also how many of you go for the small TDI over the large TDI?

I went for the large, but mine isn't for civilian concealed use.

Not sure about the belt loops, but for MOLLe or the clip it should be ambi.

I'm not a LEO yet, and my concealment shirt will not allow me to open carry my small TDI, so I got a custom kydex sheath and it fits on my belt and conceals pretty good. The standard sheath belt loops were too small to fit my belt through (nice thick belt), so until I got the custom sheath, I used a Comp-Tac clip sandwiched between the sheath and belt loop piece. Hey, it worked. When I'm a LEO, I'll go for the large.

Hey thanks guys... I'll probably go for the small one first. And thanks for the sheath input!

I've got an original design TDI knife with the original sheath. It does seem flimsy at first, but I've yet to break it in several years of daily (always, even to church) carry. It works fine on a Wilderness 1.5" belt. It is also ambi, to answer another question. Just unscrew the plate with the belt slots, install it on the other side of the knife.
