Knife - carry side, and opening assist.
I transitioned long ago to left front pocket for knife carry, much as anything so I could employ weak hand for use and have gun hand free. But - however much I try and practice - this still feels awkward and slow.
I have just today fitted a ''One-Armed Bandit'' - the lil' gizmo Euc referred to other day in a thread - and it is a simple item to fit and certainly on my Buck makes for much easier opening - but still - weak hand is very poor to achieve a fast result.
Right hand somehow feels almost instinctive with the operation and is much slicker but - still don't want to carry on right ideally. Who carries strong or weak side?
Here is the Buck with the gizmo added. It works best close to pivot point plus - I had to move behind the integral thumb slot anyways to get set screw tightening properly on blade top. It does exactly what it is meant to - nicely - just wish I could be as good left handed as right!!
Who carries strong or weak side?
I carry my pistol on the left and knife on the right. I never really became strongly right-handed or strongly left-handed. Actually my left is strong side for the pistol (or rifle) and the right side is strong hand for knife work with one exception: for cutting my food on a plate, I hold the knife in the left hand to avoid switching the fork around.
