The Spyderench is no longer made by Spyderco under that name. Its new version is called the Byrdrench and is made by Spyderco's partner in China. The pic is of the Byrdrench and, while there are minor cosmetic differences, the two tools are essentially the same.
I bought a new Byrdrench about six weeks ago and have given it a pretty good workout since it arrived. Each of the tools will do what it is supposed to and the ability of the tool to come apart and be used as separate tools is a nice touch.
The case that comes with the tool is IMHO quite cheaply made and the rench carries better using the attached clip than using the case.
The rench is quite well made, somewhat heavy for a multi tool, but performs its various functions well. One thing I particularly like is the knife. Handy to get out and then put away. Much better than most of the knife blades on tools such as Leatherman and SOG.
I am not particularly wild about the rench but it is both sturdy and reliable. FWIW. Would I buy it again? Don't think so.
