I had a SEAL Pup and have a SOG Spec-Elite 1, no complaints on either one, the only reason that I got rid of the pup was that a buddy of mine wanted it and I had about a dozen good fixed blades at the time that I didn't need.
This is a discussion on SOG Seal Pup Elite within the Defensive Knives & Other Weapons forums, part of the Defensive Carry Discussions category; I've been looking for a fixed blade knife and the SOG Seal Pup Elite fits what I want nearly perfectly. The only thing holding me ...
I've been looking for a fixed blade knife and the SOG Seal Pup Elite fits what I want nearly perfectly. The only thing holding me back is the fact that it is made in Taiwan. Every knife I own (2 folders, 4 fixed blade) are made in the U.S. except one (made in Solingen, Germany).
I really like the knife but I am concerned about quality. Anyone else have any experiences with this knife that can help me out?
The sogs are good but i bought a Gerber lmf a while back and it is awsome. Made in USA. great quality.
The seals are realy nice also the Kabar makes one of D2 i like it a lot.
I almost ordered the Seal Pup but at the last minute decided to spend a little extra and get a Benchmade Nimravus instead.
Ended up getting the SEAL Pup some time later. It's a nice knife, but I've never put it through any hard use.
I refuse to carry it because both the kydex and nylon sheaths that come with it are horrible. It fits in the Nimravus nylon sheath quite well, so I suggest picking up a second one if you get the SOG.
Only bring artillery when you intend to kill absolutely everything.
I have had one for about two years, and like it a lot.
If you don't protect your self, who will?
I like my Seal Pup! Great knife and has seen some hard use. No problems. I seriously doubt it will fail you in anyway!
Like my Kabar better, but that's a Marine thing!
