This is a discussion on Tactical Nightstand within the Defensive Knives & Other Weapons forums, part of the Defensive Carry Discussions category; I think I'd drill the business end of the bat and put about 16 to 24 oz. of lead in it....

You could replace the bat with a cattle prod...

Honestly what crook is going to take the time to closely examine your furniture like that anyway?

Not to take this post too seriously, but that shield has "wrist breaker" written all over it. The bottom part of the table/leg junction is right over the wrist. A solid blow to it and and you are now only 50% combat effective.

Hey...when all else fails, resort to the club I think it is a neat idea. I keep one in my car, sort of looks like a tire beater the truck drivers use!!!

    "I like it."

This coming from a country that invented the "Nanny State" ideology... this isn't surprising.
Since the UK is now going to be tracking all civilian vehicle movements... I can only imagine that something like this will not last long and will be immediately frowned upon. While a Mace and Shield might be okay for home defense against Russell Crowe, I perfer my Western America style defense of a Marlin Lever Action and a Shovel.
