I'll call them, thanks for the number.

There weres no other stampings on the blade at all.
The guy behind the counter pulled another one out of the box that had what appeared to be a black painted (powder coated) blade which had no markings on it other than the obligatory "Kershaw", whatsoever.

I hope they are counterfiets, and if so Kershaw nails them to the wall on this one. I was really looking forward to treating myself to a nice knife.

I can shed a little light on this. Kershaw Knives are indeed made in the USA.

However there is a huge influx of a Chinese copy of the Scallion right now. It looks like a Scallion, but it's a piece of junk. My cousin has one, and they're everywhere.

The real deal and the copy bear only a superficial resemblance.
Actually I would say that is not the case this time. These were in "Kershaw" boxes, which looked like the one in the picture further up the page, minus the flag.
The knives also had "Kershaw" written on them.

If they were copies, they were deliberately attempting to pass them off as the real thing.

That's not entirely impossible! Chinese knockoffs with brand names on them do surface into the market every so often. I've heard of it happening to Emerson knives a couple of years ago in particular.

I left a voicemail on Kersaw's customer service line.

I'll keep you posted if they call back.

I had the Kershaw Vapor II that was made in China.

Not a bad knife for a Chinese made one.

    Thanks for the pic P95

The one I looked at had "Made in china" stamped on it where yours has Aug 04 in it. IIRC it had Kershaw in the blade but no other markings.

Smells of scam Bryan. Be interested anyways to hear what feedback you get etc.

I get real p'd off at all this counterfiet stuff sneaking in - if a product has and merits a maker's name then that is the only Mfr legitimately able to sell such.

Mind you - nothing new eh - check out the street vendors in NYC - any one of them will sell you a ''real'' Rolex LOL!

How's the edge on that thing??? I'm still having quite a time with my Kmart special. I have some diamond stones coming in the mail.....if they don't help....I'm buying something else.

jar - right now all but ''scary sharp'' - not perhaps tho quite to extreme degree of my Buck Mayo TNT - that is just crazy the way it holds edge. I would expect tho this blade steel to take and keep a pretty good edge.

I reckon the Kershaw could do maybe with a simple leather strop - no more, right now - just a refresh.

Time will tell later on but the destructions do refer to the use of a steel - not a stone. We'll see.
