What do you think of the SOG tridents?

What do you think of the SOG trident? I lost my recon1, was getting tired of it anyway, And wanted to get a new one. I love the Sog trident Tanto plain edge with assisted opening. I LOVE the way it looks and it has aus 8 steel.

Is there any problem with it , is it a good choice?

Haven't used it personally, but I have a SOG seal pup and a folding SOG. They make quality knives.

+1 I own the same. I'd carry a Stryder, but can't afford the price tag.

My folder is the SOG Pentagon Elite.

I would highly recommend this knife. I carry the partially serriated clip point knife. It has been my EDC for the last two years. I use it daily and the only sharpening that I have done is taken it to a buffing wheel with jewelers rugue (sp?) I have put this knife through the paces at work, both the firehouse and ambulance station, and has preformed every task I have thrown at it. Click Here for a link to the one I carry

Hmm ok. I like how the pocket clip is made were you can barrely see it in your pocket.
Clip point looks cool but i have always been a tanto nut. Tanto looks awsome to me.

I just ordered one in tanto from manventureoutpost.com for $61.50.

See the comparison and review at Tactical-Life.com Amazon Cutters
I've had one with the conventional curved blade, and partial serations for about four years. It's a little thick and long for EDC in my office environment. I think it's awesome for backpacking and camping. The lock-up is very stable, and the blade's a decent steel. It's a wee bit thinner near the tip than many tactical knives. That may make it a little less ideal for stabbing through car doors, but it works even better at slicing summer sausage and whittling a make-shift tent stake. I'd say go for the conventional blade shape, it'll be a bit more of an all-around performer.

I'm not familiar with the trident, but I own several SOG Flash II folders, and I love them. SOG makes a fine prodect, so should you get one, I'm sure that you will be pleased.

Also you should know that their Customer Service (if you ever have any sort of problem) is a tadbit slow but, absolutely top notch "no hassle" and polite.

I got it and it does came far sharper than cold steel recon 1s. It is scary sharp. It is so much lighter than you would think. I didn't like that at first but i don't even notice anymore and kind of pefer it that light. I love the assisted opening and the pocket clip.

Question - does the blade move around when locked open (is there any play)?
I'm considering this knife but blade play is something I cannot stand.
    Thanks for any help!
