I've carried the Silver Leek every for over three years. Give them out to anyone of my friends who admires it.

I tightened down the safety in the unlocked position when it first loosened and now it stays in its hole and I don't bother with it. It has never opened by itself. (guess it isn't haunted)

    I like them alot.

I used mine today to cut the top off of another Banana and give a piece to my greyhound.

I also love the finish it is so hard to scratch the finish off of the blade.

In all honesty I use it for a cooking knife as well on my bamboo cutting board. Awesome little tool.

I also carry this knife, and I love it. Just like everyone else, mine has not opened in my pocket. Mine is all black. The finish on the blade is great, but the finish on the handle does get scratched pretty easily. This doesn't bother me though b/c I don't carry it for looks. This is my second Kershaw, and I like them very much.

Initially had a problem because the pocket retaining clip wasn't tight enough. I was in the post office and reached in my pocket for change, the knife fell out and opened when it hit the floor. I got alot of funny looks. I've since tightened the clip and carry unlocked without a problem. Great knife

I have two Leeks...and one of them is always on my person.
As far as the tip lock, I actually tightened the screws around the lock so it was NOT usable. If it is too loose, it may engage at a time you really need to use the knife. That would not be a good situation.
I have never had mine open on its own.

I took care of the tip lock on my Rainbow Leek by cutting the polymer bar off with another knife. That way it does not matter what position it is in, it will not block the blade from coming out. I also have never had the knife open on its own.
    God bless our troops!

I had the opposite problem...the lock would engage in my pocket and if I needed it in a hurry, I was SOL. I removed the tip lock. Mine's never opened in my pocket.

Yep. Mine opens just as fast as an automatic knife.

I ended up doing the same thing. Tip locks are like S&W's lock holes, annoying and they engage at the wrong time!

A Ken Onion Shallot, black, half serrated is my EDC knife. It has assisted opening and no lock. There has never been an issue with an accidental opening.
