No knives in Norway
I reseached the laws and it is supposed to
be forbidden to carry knifes inside the city
limits unless it's for work purposes.
Well, I counted 3 guys today carrying hunting
knives on their belts. Might as well start carrying
one too Get one with an engraved Elk
on the handle or something.

What part of Norway are you in?
I went to Norway in 99' for a cold weather exercise, called Battle Griffin but I can't remember the actual name of the town we were in, the Govt leased a part of a farm and we called it Camp Almo.
I went back the following summer to work there and lived in downtown Trondheim at the Day's Inn there.
I absolutley love Norway....great people, fun nightlife, great beer, beautiful women...just a killer place to be at IMO.
The Norwegian's seemed to really like Marine's....very friendly and willing to talk...

I have talked to a few guys..they told me about the Norwegian
special forces having a (Norwegian Shower)
Basically they roll around in the snow in their shorts until
The Norwegian Special forces also allow them to grow long
beards and hair. I'm not in the military myself..just welding
I think it's pretty great here. Found some nice gun ranges too.

We got to go out with some Norwegian engineers and play in the woods...good times....
It wasn't really funny, but since it was a big NATO exercise, many countries were there....the planners had to keep pretty much everybody away from the German's....I guess the Norwegian's pretty much still hate them from their occupation in WW II still.
Ah yes, the Norwegian shower...remember it well (shudders)...living in a tent in the middle of winter in Norway is a miserable experience to say the least....it caused a few Medevac's that I can remember.
One of our Navy Chief's wrote in big, red Kool-Aid letters on our landing strip "We Need Beer" about a day before a General was supposed to come to our FARP and visit us...not good, not good at all...our Commander lost his mind over that lol...
It was so cold there (how cold was it you ask?), a moose froze to death over-night and was found the next morning stiff, and we never shut our gear down even to re-fuel...the diesel was congealing at that temperature.
