Benchmade folders
I just bought a Benchmade Presidio BM520BK folder. I didn't want the auto to avoid carry hassles. I haven't received it yet, bought it on line. I heard Benchmade put together a pretty good product. I havent handled one yet. I am unsure if they are better than any other knife maker. They are a bit pricey. Any opinions on the Benchmade products and why.

I think the benchmades are one of the best mass produced knives out there. I've carried one for almost 15 years now.

I agree with sixto. Benchmades have to be the highest quality mass produced knives out there. My edc is a Benchmade Griptilian. I LOVE that knife, I feel naked without it. You won't be disappointed with a benchmade.

That's the same knife I carry every day, the absolute best folder I've ever seen. Beats the hell out of my emerson even.
Good choice.

Benchmade makes three knife classes that they designate Red, Blue and Black. The Red class are so-so in my opinion but everything I've owned in the Blue or Black class are very good to excellent knives. The Presidio is in the Black class so I would expect that it is an excellent knife.

I have three Microtech auto-blades I purchased more than 10-12 years ago. They're very well made but I seldom carry them. Perhaps it's just my age or something. In fact, they're currently at the factory being sharpened. I plan on selling them here on the forum when they return.

This is my Benchmade Tsunami that I've had for quite a while. I like the fact that it can be opened and closed with one hand.

I've carried their AFCK for almost 10 years now. I have yet to find one that matches it.

I got my Benchmade in the mail today and you guys were right on. This is definitely a quality knife. The tolerances are incredible. Defiantly glad I bought it. This knife doesn't need an assist for opening. Great finish too.

I love Benchmades, the autos are sturdy, the assisted folder needs a little tuning. My daily carry is a Kershaw Onion assisted that I have had forever. Opens like it is brand new
