I will be going to Michigan soon and will not be making the calls (where we go, where we eat, where we stay, etc). So unfortunately, I will not be carrying. I was wanting to find a good pepper spray that is legal in Michigan and the laws that pertain.

MI is 2% OC spray. Fox 5.3 is legal.
MI also honors every resident permit. Carry here is no problem. Bars, church, schools, college classroom/dorm, seating cap. 2500+, casinos is pretty much the list.
Why aren't you going to carry? MI has the worst economy of the states and down state is getting worse. Come to MI and come packing.

My Mother-n-law is getting married and will be in a church most of the time, I will not be driving my car, and my future step father-n-law's mom looks down upon guns (whom my wife and I will be staying with). I would not feel comfortable keeping my weapon in the car.

alrighty then, as tubby mentioned, 2% OC is the civilian limit. PEPPER spray only, other chemicals (mace) ar illegal. Electrical devices are also illegal...you didn't mention it, but I thought I'd bring it up anyway. Fox labs has a good rep, and quite a sting as I recall.
Welcome. Have fun. Enjoy the scenerey, and do us a favor and buy a couple cars while you're here.

If you choose to carry here is the law regarding concealed carry pistol free zones as stated on the Michigan State Police Website:
Pistol Free Areas
Individuals licensed to carry a concealed pistol by Michigan or another state are prohibited from carrying a concealed pistol on the following premises:
1.Schools or school property but may carry while in a vehicle on school property while dropping off or picking up if a parent or legal guardian
2.Public or private day care center, public or private child caring agency, or public or private child placing agency.
3.Sports arena or stadium
4.A tavern where the primary source of income is the sale of alcoholic liquor by the glass consumed on the premises
5.Any property or facility owned or operated by a church, synagogue, mosque, temple, or other place of worship, unless the presiding official allows concealed weapons
6.An entertainment facility that the individual knows or should know has a seating capacity of 2,500 or more
8.A dormitory or classroom of a community college, college, or university
"Premises" does not include the parking areas of the places listed above in 1 through 8.
And as stated before Pepper Spray in Michigan can be of no greater concentration than 2% and 35 grams.
