have you ever seen very tightly rolled up paper ?? It's hard as steel, and then if done right with a sharp edge... waaa laaa.... a shive.

People can make weapons out of about everything...... gee, even the cords in the hospital room could be used as a weapon.

Watching that show about Georgian prisons on the History Channel lately and this little dandy doesn't shock me one bit. Heck, the fact that these tricks caught the NYPD and/or any corrections staff off-guard simply tells me that those people need a serious retraining session on the criminal mindset.

Reminds me of a story I read about an old OSS instructor. Supposedly he could fold a single newspaper page into a shape he could use to stab people with.

I can just imagine the headlines.

Listening to my ex-wife on the phone was dangerous to my health.

I saw a similar warning bulletin about the razor blade thing about 10 years ago, also had a scalpel or Xacto knife blade pictured. IIRC the steering wheel Club into a shotgun is at least as old. Nothing new. I once saw an inmate produced shank made from a stack of styrofoam cupse. We also had a jail inmate smuggle in a road flare. You may use your imagination as to where he hid it but he was able to get it in and light it in a cell.

OR...we could put murderers to death so we have more room to keep the criminals in jail where they belong.

I am a fan of this idea. Makes sense to me.
Just remember: When seconds count, the police are only minutes away.

I've always believed that the deadliest weapon resides between one's own ears. I have carried that tightly rolled newspaper into my classroom for years whenever I got a thug expelled (or arrested) and had to suffer the threats from his "Homies."

This would happen only in paranoid New York City. Next it will be tooth picks with pointed ends.
