    fixed blades in PA??

whats the laws say about carrying a fixed blade knife in PA and if you can what is the legal length of blade and overall? Would it have to be open carry or could it be concealed? Also would you carry a fixed blade or a folding blade and why. I've seen some really nice fixed blades and would like to get one but not if I cant carry it because whats the point if I cant, I might as well just put the money towards a nice folding blade knife.

Generally speaking, single edged fixed blades are perfectly legal in Pennsylvania. There is no state law prohibiting any blade length or mode of carry.
However, local governments are free to restrict the carry of knives. Therefore, there are ordinances like Philadelphia's, which prohibits the carry of any knife unless you need that knife for your work. Then you may possess a knife while you are on the job. So, you've got to research your local laws to determine what is legal in your area.
