This was reviewed about 15 years ago in American Survival Guide. Not a new item. It occurs to me that if you're close enough to use the knife, you don't need the gun. If you're not, the barrel on the "gun" is so short it won't be effective anyway. I'd rather have one of those stackbarrel derringers from American Derringer that's 410 shotgun on top and 45LC on the bottom. Just about as effective as the gun/knife but you've got two rounds AND two calibers...twice as "good." LOL

    the raggedy edge
that thing is a little silly. i'd rather have a desert eagle with a blade attachment, similar to the gun a character used in 'blade II'. or better yet, a desert eagle and a machete. or, even better than that, two desert eagles, a machete, some good running shoes, and a secure spot.

    Ultimate survival knife...

I don't like it. Too easy to sweep yourself... maybe forget that the blade isn't the most dangerous part of the weapon. Intersting but impractical. Better to try and get one of the few remaining Wilkison Sword Dartmoore survival blades designed for the SAS before they are all gone forever. Great survival knife and almost indestructable. It's a shame Wilkinson closed its doors after so many 100's of years of fine sword/knife making. A few Dartmoors have trickled over here to be sold on the bay... but they will soon be impossible to find.

One of these and a good 870 12G would be a lot cheaper and a lot more useful IMOHO.
