Oh man, I am like a kid in a candy store!!

My kids have a set of "adopted grandparents," essentially great friends whose grandkids live overseas who have adopted my kids as their grandkids. "Grandpa" Norm is a gun and knife fanatic who has been a great mentor to me with respect to firearms and knives.

I've been pining for a good defensive folder since I took a class in my self defense studio about integrating firearms and knives and clubs into our self defense system. So for Valentines Day he brought me this:



It's a Benchmade 730S Elishewitz! His son reps Benchmade, so he got me this one. It's beautiful. Smooth action, opens easily but securely, has a great feel and a nice heft.

I already am totally in love with it. I've been working on the action all day, just practicing the draw and open. Gotta get used to it to use it as a defensive tool.
