What do you carry for defense?

Hey guys, thats what I want to know. Read the thread of what do you guys have, but I want to know what knives you carry strictly for self defense. Please write blade size. Right now I only carry a small folding tanto style half serrated with a 4" blade. Looking for a good fixed blade knife thats around 6", with tanto style blade. I will be getting this beast soon, but it might be a little much for 24/7 carry LOL. Paul Chen Hanwei Practical Plus Tanto

One thing that never leaves my side is my Spyderco Endura wave. (set up for reverse grip deployment) I have a Kabar TDI and LDK, Benchmade Instigator, Cold Steel Spike, Blackhawk Crucible FX2 and Be-Wharned, Spyderco Tenacious and that would be all the options I have for carry. I usually carry the FX2 the TDI and Endura.

If I could carry a Kabar TDI I would, KA-BAR Knives: KABAR TDI Law Enforcement Knife

But since they are illegal here I have a BM Griptiallian on my weak side.

I love Kershaw assisted-openers...I have two of them...errrrr, had two of them.

My latest defensive knife arrived on Thursday...
This knife is a little larger than the original two Kershaws, and seems t fit the defensive bill for me...unlike my other two Kershaws, it will only be used to 'cut out' vital organs......nothing else!
    Mine is the plain edge...

IMHO a 6" fixed blade is going to present carrying difficulties and possible LEO inquires, but for a fixed defensive blade, these are great!

I'm still waiting on one of these in Blue with a smooth edge...

I carry one weak hand side, just in front of the spare mag everyday.

I'm not trained on using a knife for self defense, so I only carry a knife as a tool. I know if I where to pull it I would most likely get cut up worse then the Bad Guy.

My EDC carry is a Benchmade Kulgera with a 3.60" blade. It has the Axis lock, which is one of the best locks on the market. It's extremely fast to open since I can simply flick my wrist to open it.

I put an order in for an Emerson CQC-10, but I'm still waiting for it to come in.

My two carry knives are either a Kershaw Leek, or another Kershaw that I have been carrying lately, the Zing.

You can't carry a fixed blade knife.

I can legally carry my G19, with a spare mag, and a 33 rd mag in the truck and I have a speed loader for the Det Spl in my console too (70rds of 9mm).

But I can't carry a fixed blade knife with a sub 2.5 inch blade. Kinda dumb huh.

The fixed blade law in Alabama is really weird. I carry a Spyderco Endura. It's a great knife!

    3.8inch blade

I like it for the folding convenience, but the secondary lock makes it a virtual fixed blade. It prevents the primary lock from disengaging unintentionally.

My finger didn't appreciate my last folding knife failing to stay locked and folding up, so I appreciate the secondary lock on this knife.
